Janet Marshall opened her Dance Centre in September 2005 with the specific aim of delivering high quality teacher training.

Courses are structured around the individual’s needs and requirements and so far Dance Centre students have enjoyed a 100% pass rate in achieving the Imperial Society (ISTD) Foundation in Dance Instruction (FDI) and the Certificate in Dance Education (CDE) qualifications.

The FDI and CDE qualifications demand both written and practical skills, all of which are covered during the course. Assessment will be through teacher observations in class, completion of a portfolio and external assessment by the ISTD.

The Dance Centre also offers licentiate and fellowship guidance as well as refresher courses for teachers. Students may also further their own personal (executant) exams up to and including advanced 2 ballet, modern and tap (subject to timetable and availability).
