Bristol and Cheltenham Dance Festivals

Over the last two months many of our students have been busy rehearsing and performing at both The Bristol and The Cheltenham Dance Festivals. Whilst we have had some amazing results we are so proud of all of our students for their wonderful attitudes and support of each other. A particular highlight was the group sections; having not performed in large groups for the last two years it was so exciting to see the students dancing together again.

Here’s what our student Eliza Griffiths had to say:

“It was an amazing feeling to be back in the Town Hall for Cheltenham Festival last week after the break because of COVID-19. The first dance I did was my National solo, which started the Festival, and I was SO surprised when I entered the hall because I had forgotten how big the room is and it had been three years since I had been there! The adjudicator was really nice and supportive and made us do different bows to leave the stage every time we finished a section. This was very different to most adjudicators but I loved doing the bow and watching them. Thursday was a very busy day for me, but so much fun, with lots of solos, duets and trios and by the end of the day I was DEFINITELY ready to go to bed!! I found my Song and Dance quite tricky because it was hard to project my voice to the audience as the building is so big, but I still loved doing it. My favourite part of the whole Festival was dancing for the last time in under 10s Performance Workshop Groups and it was even more exciting because we won!! I can`t wait to go back next year!!”

We are so thankful to the organisers of both Bristol Dance Eisteddfod and The Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts for giving our students the opportunity to perform and also to all of the amazing parents for all of your support!
