Janet Marshall

Principal & Co-ordinator

Janet started her early training with the Royal Academy of Dance Scholarship Scheme before gaining her Diploma in Dance at Ballet Rambert. She then worked professionally for several years in the UK, before opening her dance school in Cheltenham with just a handful of pupils.

The school has just celebrated its 50th year and is now a centre of excellence, where students can develop and grow in a caring and artistic environment and all the staff are passionate about what they do. It is widely considered as probably the best in the South West.

Janet, now a senior UK and International examiner for the ISTD in Ballet, Modern and Tap, has been a Ballet Committee member for many years, contributing to the progression and development of the syllabus.

Janet was both thrilled and humbled to be the recipient of the prestigious ISTD Imperial Award for Services to the Theatre faculty across the three genres in 2019.The school is heavily involved in the local community both through the theatre and charity events.

Many former pupils are now scattered around the world as professional dancers, teachers and examiners.
